Our philosophy of “putting people first” extends beyond those that we work with and work for, as it includes the local communities and the countries in which we live and operate. The SPi Foundation aims to promote education, environmental stewardship, and quality of life improvement particularly among children living in poor communities. Some of the programs that the Foundation supports include:
The SPi Global team gave out SGK pins and pink wristbands to attendees who visited our booth at major trade shows and events we took part in. With every booth visit, we donated US$1 to the SGK Foundation. To date, SPi Global has donated over US$10,000 to the SGK fund.
Aside from computer literacy, the Foundation also supports reading campaigns and works with educational institutions to promote reading as part of early learning development.
To date, the Foundation has helped over 500 instructors improve their effectiveness in teaching children in local and national communities. In partnership with employees and external organizations, the Foundation has successfully collected over 8,000 books that were distributed to more than 15 beneficiary schools.
The Foundation made a significant first step towards achieving this objective when one of SPi Global’s clients, Springer Science+Business Media, volunteered to take part in our corporate social responsibility program. They made a significant monetary contribution to provide a local community with needed materials to build 50 houses, as well as provide health and educational support.
In recognition of Springer’s contribution, the neighborhood was named the SPi-Springer GK Sunshine Village. Since the project’s inception, over 550 SPi Global volunteers have supported the cause through ongoing house construction, basic education, and livelihood training projects. With over 3,850 volunteer hours currently logged, we aim to sustain the program and continue our involvement with the community.
