SPi's Certified Medical Transcriptionist Program Puts Its Employees' Careers on the Fast Track
Coimbatore, 19 December, 2007. SPi, a leading BPO provider of medical transcription and revenue cycle management services, today announced the latest results of its Certified Medical Transcription (CMT) program to its healthcare facilities in Coimbatore and Chennai. This program provides SPi's India-based medical language specialists with world-class training and support and presents them with a distinct competitive advantage in the market place.
The CMT certification is globally recognized in the medical transcription industry and is awarded by The Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (formerly the American Association for Medical Transcription). SPi was the first BPO organization in India to sponsor the CMT program for its employees. As part of the program, SPi selects highly qualified employees to take part in an extensive two week coaching program that prepares them for the qualifying exam given by AHDI. This preparation helps to ensure that all of the employees who have been selected to take the qualifying exam are able to pass it.
The CMT program is another example of how SPi ensures the career growth of its employees. The certification not only guarantees immediate promotion for employees within SPi, but it also ensures a significant increase in the pay as they are now eligible to receive premium pay in addition to their regular salary and incentives.

SPi currently has 27 CMTs. There are another 23 medical language specialists who have just completed the training program and are ready to take the CMT exam. By March 2008, SPi plans to have approximately 80 CMTs working in its Indian facilities.
