BPO leader SPi Global targets 60,000 volunteer hours for its 5th CSR DayBack to list
Manila, Philippines. SPi Global, one of the world’s leading BPO service providers, is aiming to generate 60,000 employee volunteer hours in just one day on March 12, 2016, to carry out social responsibility projects across 21 of its global locations in the Philippines, India, China, Vietnam, Nicaragua, and the United States.
Participating locations in the Philippines include the company’s sites in Makati, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, Pasig, Paranaque, Laguna, Iloilo, and Dumaguete.
With the theme “Power to Inspire,” this corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative will benefit 19,000 children over 70 partner institutions, including schools, orphanages, and hospitals, among other non-profit organizations.
“We believe that great companies are defined not only by how they enhance their financials but also how they enhance and strengthen the communities they operate in. Since 2012, we devoted 180,000 employee volunteer hours impacting the lives of over 50,000 children globally. We are proud that our employees have taken ownership of our CSR program, which is a testament to the culture of malasakit we have espoused globally,” said Maulik Parekh, president and CEO of SPi Global.
Members of SPi Global’s senior management team have been deployed in all of the company’s locations across five continents to lead employees as they execute their chosen CSR programs.
Now, on its fifth year, the company’s CSR Day has won several awards: the Award for Corporate Social Responsibility from the National Outsourcing Association (NOA) and the European Outsourcing Association, both in London; the Award for Excellence in Communication Management – Social Responsibility in the Philippine Quill Awards; the Anvil Award of Excellence; and Anvil Award of Merit.
